What Happened to the U.S. Certificate of Origin for Exports to Israel?

Written by Lisa Nemer | October 3, 2018

For years, many exporters to Israel needed to complete the U.S. Certificate of Origin for Exports to Israel. It was one of the few export forms that the Shipping Solutions export documentation software couldn't print out on plain paper.

That's because the Israeli government required that the Certificate of Origin (COO) be printed on their official green form. We weren't allowed to create a similar form in Shipping Solutions, but we did create a “data only” form that printed everything in the correct spot on the official form.

But beginning with Shipping Solutions Professional version 9.13 and Shipping Solutions Classic 8.13, the Israeli Certificate of Origin form went away. What happened?

Commercial Invoice for Exports to Israel

As we outlined in the blog post, U.S. Origin Invoice Declaration for Exports to Israel, the old green form has gone away. Instead, exporters to Israel who want to claim preferential duty rates under the U.S. - Israel Free Trade Agreement need to include a new statement on their commercial invoice.

New versions of the Shipping Solutions software include a Commercial Invoice for Exports to Israel that includes this new statement. Shipping Solutions software users with a current Annual Maintenance Program (AMP) subscription can upgrade to this new version of the software at no charge. Shipping Solutions Professional 9 and Classic 8 users without a current AMP subscription can upgrade at a discounted price.

Exporters who aren't using the Shipping Solutions software but are looking for a faster and easier way to create their export forms including the new Commercial Invoice for Exports to Israel can register to get a free online demo of the software.
